Straight From The B Words Bookshelf

Hi my name is Brittney & I am a Bibliophile… AKA Book Lover.

If you follow me on Insta or Pinterest you may have picked up on my love for a great novel. I can divulge myself into a grand adventure like “Treasure Island” A feel good Chick Lit preferably one by Sophie Kinsella. To a twisted domestic thriller which brings me to my bookshelf. I want to share with you my May fav read.

THE LAST MRS. PARRISH

This book has continuously crossed my path. From my fave blogger @sassyredlipstick to perusing the book tables at Costco. Once my Gal pal Tarra- my reading soulmate- told me to read it I knew it was time.

I describe this book as a dark romance with some psychological suspense. Which for me equals a fast read because I need to know what’s going to happen. They also leave me feeling like I’m slightly losing it and make me wonder if I’m crazy.

You know that meme of the girl reading the book and it’s late and she says “Just on more chapter” than 3 hours later still reading. Yea that’s me, reading this book.

Plot Summary:

Amber Patterson is fed up. She’s tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more—a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted.
To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne—a socialite and philanthropist—and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale.
Amber’s envy could eat her alive . . . if she didn’t have a plan. Amber uses Daphne’s compassion and caring to insinuate herself into the family’s life—the first step in a meticulous scheme to undermine her. Before long, Amber is Daphne’s closest confidante, traveling to Europe with the Parrishes and their lovely young daughters, and growing closer to Jackson. But a skeleton from her past may undermine everything that Amber has worked towards, and if it is discovered, her well-laid plan may fall to pieces.

You know the term Show Hole? Used to describe a feeling once you finished binge watching a really good show. Well this book has literally put me in a Book Hole haha I’m not sure if that’s a thing…I wanted more! So I googled the author and come to find out it’s two sisters! They just recently released their next novel “The Last Time I Saw You.” I can’t wait to start it! If you haven’t picked up THE LAST MRS. PARRISH I suggest adding it to your bookshelf soon!

Yours Truly

B
